Early Morning Walking Group

Come and join us for a friendly walk in the park, alongside the river. Catch your breath

What is CYB?  Catch Your Breath is a friendship group for neurodiverse young people and an expression of hospitality offered by Manningham Uniting Church.    RSVP appreciated but not required. Choir

The choir leads the singing for the Fellowship@10 Sunday services and often sings a piece relevant to the theme of the service. Most times the piece is rehearsed only on the day of the service and so choir members can walk up to the rehearsal. Besides the regular choir members, other choristers are welcome to join for single services as/when they are able. Fellowship@10 (worship)

This worship service is a relaxed traditional style service led by one of our ministers assisted by lay participants. The music emphasis is on traditional hymns accompanied by the organ but also includes more modern hymns and contemporary songs. A choir practises at 9.15am prior to the service and often contributes to the worship. This service takes place at 10am each Sunday in The Chapel. Holy Communion is held monthly generally on the first Sunday of each month.

KidsChurch (worship)

KidsChurch focuses on developing young people into faithful and community minded adults. During the Family@10 service they meet together to play games, make crafts, sing songs and explore what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Young people begin worship with their families at 10am and then leave the auditorium part way through the service. Family@10 (Worship)

Family@10 is a modern worship service which is informal and relaxed, singing contemporary songs accompanied by a band. Worship teams led by a minister plan and lead the worship. Sometimes there are discussions. This service takes place in The Auditorium. Ladies with a common interest in knitting come together to create warm garments and soft toys for newly arrived refugees and asylum seekers and enjoy afternoon tea together. Explorers Study Group

Explorers is a discussion group which explores a variety of topics with  a Progressive Christianity emphasis. We have a shared leadership with all members freely joining in the discussion. Men’s Social Tennis

A group of tennis has-beens meet for very social tennis on alternate Monday evenings.We play for a couple of hours before retiring for round-table conversation and refreshments.  Transport can be arranged if required.  We welcome new participants, skill level unimportant, although superstars may be handicapped. Ladies Thyme

MUC ladies and friends come together to enjoy a coffee/tea and a weekly catch-up. Special Birthdays are celebrated and the ladies support each other in times of need. Tuesday Mens’ Coffee Group – The Grumpies

This is a very informal group of retired men that meets at the Redgum cafe every Tuesday to enjoy the coffee and try to solve the world’s problems, so far without any success. The Grumpies draw from a group of about twenty-five and attendances range between eight and fifteen. The focus is purely social based on coffee and conversation. The Group meets to promote social justice issues in our church and wider community. Westcare

Westcare is a friendly group that provides company for people during the day every 1st and 3rd Wednesday.  We commence with morning tea (provided) and a chat, trim stamps for Sammy Stamp Fund until 12.30pm when we prepare for lunch.  Each person brings their own sandwich/salad and cake is provided with another cuppa. MUC Connections – Supporting refugees and people seeking asylum

MUC Connections is a group of people whose members encourage one another to connect with, support and advocate for refugees and people seeking asylum. Activities include speakers, petitions, organising food and toy drives; making up toiletry packs to give to newly arrived refugees, activities to raise awareness, and fundraising for organisations that support people seeking asylum. Dementia Support Group

Manningham now has an opportunity to support those in our community suffering from a form of dementia. The Redgum Café located in the Manningham Uniting Church and Community Centre, in Wood Street Templestowe, has been accredited by Dementia Australia as being “Dementia Friendly.” The Redgum Café has established an accessible and safe environment for people with dementia and their carers and families, with staff having successfully undertaken training to help people with a dementia diagnosis to enjoy a normal social…

Stitch and Chat Patchworkers

Stitch and Chat Patchworkers make quilted knee rugs that are given to church members and friends who are struggling with health issues, etc. We make banners, single bed quilts for Australian military personnel serving overseas, bags sent to Africa, quilts for refugees etc. All items are given away, nearly all materials used are supplied. We try various patterns to learn new skills. No-one is an expert, all participate, we learn from each other and no great skill level is required.…

Stepping out walkers

A walking group that has been going for 20 years. Perhaps we do not walk as far these days but we enjoy getting together monthly, supporting each other and our walks are always finished at a Café with coffee.
