OTHER FAQs
What if my teen is reluctant to participate? We are determined to do all that we can feasibly do to help somebody feel comfortable at CYB, particularly without their supporters immediately present for most of each meeting. For example, we are happy to try and make accommodations, meet the person and tour the space in advance, provide social story resources, help them break the ice in the meeting, etc. We also want to accommodate food sensitivities, allergies and more. If you need something, please don’t hesitate to ask!
Is there wheelchair access? Yes! We have a parking garage with an elevator, as well as space to pull up and disembark someone with mobility issues at a level, main entrance.
How do you handle the tension between science and faith? We believe that faith and science are different angles of the same unfolding reality. They can and should be mutually hospitable.
What about controversial issues? We believe that conversations about controversial issues of science, society and faith can and must be conducted with humility, grace, honesty, and compassion. We encourage critical thinking and personal reflection – not indoctrination!
