Cultural Diversity Week is a time to celebrate the power, influence, and stories of Victoria’s rich multicultural communities, and all Victorians are invited to participate through a variety of in-person
events and activities. In 2023, Cultural Diversity Week will take place across the state from 11 – 21 March.
To acknowledge this time, Manningham Uniting Church is offering three opportunities to develop and expand your culinary skills.
- Monday 13 March – Basic Japanese Cooking Class – Roopa Shah
Roopa will take you through the finer points of creating Sushi rolls – you will work through creating sushi hand rolls for example california rolls.
Roopa, the new barista at the redgum cafe. - Tuesday 14 March – Basic Chinese Cooking Class – Swee Ann Koh
Swee Ann, known for his food hospitality will take you step by step through creating fried and steam dumplings, chicken and corn soup, fried rice, chicken and mixed veg.
Swee Ann is the Ministry at Manningham Uniting Church - Wednesday 15 March – Hot Cross Buns Class – Hilary Salmon
Just in time for Easter, Hilary will teach you the skills and talents required to make you very own hot cross buns.
Hilary is a member of Manningham Uniting Church, a keen baker and is on the PWMU cookbook committee.
Please note, unfortunately, this will not be suitable for people who are gluten free, and there is a limit to 10 people per class
