Father God, at times our life becomes bound up in the past. It’s easy to live in our past, our safe place to go. Encourage us to pause and look to the future through the lens of Hope. Amen
Jesus was led to the tomb where Lazarus had laid for 4 days. The entrance to the tomb uncovered. Jesus called “Come out Lazarus” and he emerged still bound with strips of cloth. This story, as simple as it might appear, has many layers. At its heart are words like faith, belief, Hope, love, grief, and resurrection. Then there is Lazarus, still bound in his funeral clothes emerging from the tomb. Perhaps we to are bound up by old arguments we find very difficult to let go off.
