Prayer
Father God, we struggle with death and its finality. It is so difficult to let go. Encourage us to share with others our grief as expressions of our love for a life well lived. Amen
To Ponder
Jesus travels back to the home of Lazarus. Martha came out to greet him. Then she went back to the house and called Mary her sister who came and greeted Jesus. “Where have you laid him?” asked Jesus, and he began to weep. His humanness shared with the others. As people we yearn to love and be loved. In the parting we discover grief, that deep sense of loss. Perhaps, to love is to grieve. For without one you can never experience the other.
