For God has done what the law weakened by the flesh could not do: by sending his own son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and to deal will sin, he condemned sin in the flesh.

Father God, help us to live by the spirit, God’s gift of Hope to his people. May we live out this Hope with others we meet as we engage in the ordinary lives of friends and family. Amen
To Ponder
Paul in these verses brings to life the promise made to Ezekiel. God acted and sent his son to achieve what the law could not do. We as Gods people live by the spirit, a life lived in Hope. Paul suggests a life lived in Christ will fulfill the law. Perhaps we need to ask the question, “why do we put all our energy and time into creating a safe place in our faith community.” Maybe we need to love people more, have less rules so we can spend more time working in our community.
