Father God, it is difficult to understand these words like Grace. It is a strange word, difficult to work with. Provide in us an open mind and an enquiring spirit. Amen
To Ponder
Paul in his letter makes clear the promise made to Abraham by God. “I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great” is not because of any law. It can only be by Faith and by Grace. Abram had nothing to boast about before God because he believed God. As we reflect as a faith community over Lent, we might ask the question, what is Grace? A friend once described it as underserved, Unexpected and Unconditional. Perhaps we should check out this word Grace.
