Father God, we at times struggle to understand and work with boundaries. Even when they are written down, we prefer to exercise our own boundaries at the expense of others. Remind us of our responsibility to care for and support those around us. Amen
To Ponder
I have come to understand this passage as being about boundaries. Jesus was tempted, He knew the boundaries, he stated his boundaries and refused to act outside those boundaries. Then the devil left him. Jesus turned his back on the offer of food, fame and power. We in the church also have boundaries. They define who we are or is it more about who we can become.
