The Role

We are seeking a part-time Communications Coordinator (2 days per week) to implement and coordinate our internal and external communications.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to someone who enjoys executing approved communications, coordinating content across platforms, and working collaboratively within a clear reporting and approval framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain organisational social media platforms (content scheduling, posting, monitoring, basic reporting)
  • Update and maintain website content (events, announcements, ministries, community programs)
  • Prepare communications materials including flyers, posters, digital graphics, advertisements, newsletters and others
  • Offer marketing support for our activities.
  • Coordinate email communications and administer shared organisational inboxes (e.g. info@, admin@)
  • Support internal communications for staff, volunteers, and ministry teams
  • Coordinate promotion of church and community events across digital, print, onsite, and email channels
  • Provide professional recommendations while implementing approved decisions
  • Coordinate basic audio-visual (AV) training and user support for volunteers and staff (not technical ownership)
  • Maintain clear documentation and support continuity of systems and processes

About You

You are:

  • An organised and reliable communicator with strong written skills
  • Comfortable managing multiple platforms within limited weekly hours
  • Confident using templates and established branding
  • Able to work respectfully in a faith-based and community environment
  • Collaborative, professional, and responsive to direction
  • Experience in promoting to the younger generation
  • Ability to attend a monthly night meeting

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Experience managing social media and digital content
  • Ability to update websites using a CMS (e.g. WordPress or similar)
  • Ability to work with Adobe Creative Cloud or a willingness to learn
  • Basic graphic design using tools such as Canva or Adobe Express
  • Experience with shared inboxes or organisational email systems
  • Need to provide samples of previous work

Desirable

  • Experience in communications, marketing or a similar role
  • Experience in a church, not-for-profit, or community organisation
  • Familiarity with basic AV systems (audio, projection, presentation or streaming) is preferred
  • Basic understanding of branding and content planning
