Help 26 newly released refugees as they start a new life in Melbourne
Connections seeks your help in raising funds to support 26 detainees who were released from Melbourne’s Park Hotel and MITA (Melbourne Immigration Transit Accommodation) last month (August 2021).
These refugees were brought to Australia from PNG and Nauru under the Medevac legislation so that they could receive treatment for health problems. After being released from closed detention they are now starting a new life, but have very little Government support.
The funds will be given to the group Refugee Voices who will distribute $1000 to each of these 26 refugees to help them buy basic necessities as they transition into the Australian community.
Thanks for your support. Every little bit helps!
