Introducing… youth2020

A new year brings the news that Youth Group (years 5 to 10) is starting up at MUC! We have a team of leaders excited about running an awesome program which is guaranteed to get you pumped! This is an open group; anyone from Grade 5 to Year 10 is welcome to join!

We will generally meet on a Sunday evening around once a fortnight and most nights will cost $5, but you’ll need to check the program carefully because there might be changed weeks due to public holidays etc or different times and costs depending on the activities.

Youth Group is launching on Sunday 9th Feb from 6pm till 8pm at MUC 109 Atkinson Street, Templestowe with Minute to Win It! (Don’t be put off by the construction site vibe we’ve got going on, there’s still facilities available for us to have some fun while we wait for the exciting new building to be completed!) Eat dinner before you come then come along for a night of fun and laughter, testing your skill, speed and determination to the limits! Can you move cotton balls using only your nose? Can you get a cookie from your forehead into your mouth just using your facial muscles? We will find out!

For our second youth group we will meet at church at 3pm on Sunday 23rd Feb then head off to GoClimb in Coburg for an adventurous afternoon! Climb to the top of the climbing walls and test your agility, strength and coordination on the NinjaX course.  We will drop you home around 6:30pm. Will you be the next Ninja Warrior?

Have you ever dreamed of entering a chocolate wonderland? Well come along to our Willy Wonka Games night on Sunday 15th March to play games that will test your sweet limits and if you’re lucky, by the end of the night you may find the golden ticket! Or at the very least have your sweet tooth satisfied…

Finally, what better way to finish off the term than to kick back with BBQ & Games

Night at Westerfolds Park on Sunday 29th March. Eat a sausage, play some games and have some fun. Meeting at the playground at Westerfolds Park.

Through youth group we aim to foster a sense of purpose and value amongst all young people and offer a space for young people to travel their emotional, social and spiritual journey in a supportive environment. We are excited about finding out about the passions of the young people in youth group and nurturing these passions by supporting them in exploring ways we can have influence in the greater community such as in social justice issues, climate change or links with Indigenous people.

Please pass this information on to any young person you know who may be interested in joining our group. This is an opportunity for young people to have fun, get active, develop friendships, discover the meaning of happiness and see what impact they can have on this world. It doesn’t get any better than that!
