LEARN MORE, BECOME AWARE, EQUIP YOURSELF
Led by Wendy Austin at Templestowe
Manningham Uniting Church has a long-held passion for and commitment to social justice issues and responses. One of these is the imbalance of power and control in relationships that can lead to family violence across a broad continuum of experiences, and can affect women, children and men in all ages and stages of life. Wendy is a member at MUC and brings to this conversation a comprehensive balance of experience, qualifications and life learning developed over 41 years of advocating and working within the Victorian Family Violence sector.
Wendy has a passion for raising awareness about family violence in all its forms and of equipping people to know what is family violence in its broadest sense, how to recognise it in its early stages, where to go for help, and what practical things we can do. We all have a place in moving from a ‘No to Violence’ to a ‘Yes to Respect’ perspective in addressing this issue and the workshop will have this focus. It will be interactive, will start at 12pm, and run for about 90 minutes. Wendy will be available for conversation after the event as required.
Not suitable for children so please let Claire know if you need to bring them with we’ll sort something out
