Your Stamps at work – 2018 RECAP

Thanks to ongoing support of church and community groups, individuals and businesses around VicTas and Australia, Sammy Stamp had another good sales result, whilst helping 18 causes.

Up to and including 5/12/18, sales reached $48,788.  Sales since 1977 total $953,334; with interest $988,745. Thanks to helpers from our pool of about 30 volunteers who trim, sort and sell stamps, etc to raise funds to support many worthy causes.

Here are the grants approved during 2018: Total $55,100 (last year $50,310).

  • MLG – assist in transporting charitable goods overseas  $4,000
  • UnitingWorld – Cyclone Gita Appeal – Tonga $5,000
  • The Vanuatu Prevention of Blindness Project $2,000
  • UnitingWorld – Papua New Guinea Earthquake Appeal  $5,000
  • Echuca/Moama UC – Breakfast and Lunch Program $1,000
  • Leongatha UC – “Days for Girls Australia” $2,000
  • Landsborough UC (Vic) – School holiday program $1,500
  • Forest St UC Bendigo – Community lunch and activities  $3,000
  • Mercy Works (Sisters of Mercy) – Education, Training, Counselling,
    etc programs with female prisoners and youth in PNG   $1,000
  • Uniting (Vic/Tas) Winter SHARE Appeal families in distress  $5,000
  • Frankston UC – Social enterprises for widows in India   $2,000
  • Frontier Services – Tyres and Mechanical Maintenance Victorian High Country Bush Chaplain support  $4,000
  • Frontier Services – Drought Appeal Rural Australia $5,000
  • UnitingWorld – Indonesian Earthquake and Tsunami Appeal $5,000
  • Yarram UC – Support for their After-School Program $1,200
  • High St Frankston UC – Tom Sutherland’s work in India $2,500
  • UnitingWorld – Water, toilets, anti-trafficking, education  $3,900
  • UCAF Orbost UC – “Days for Girls Australia”   $2,000
